Tennessee TN residents POC Black BIPOC LGBTQ --- improve mental health -- relationships -- emotional wellbeing -- with psychotherapy. Couples therapy for romantic partners and other relationships -- Memphis Nashville Knoxville

Reveal your strength

Therapy isn’t what our parents said it would be.

Many of us grew up hearing the message that seeking therapy is a sign of weakness— an admission of defeat. We were taught to stay silent, “be tough,” and prioritize fear of judgment over our happiness and growth.

Here is the truth: You do not need to walk your parents’ paths. It’s time to walk your own.

When you choose to work on yourself and your relationships in therapy, you create opportunities for yourself to reveal your strength. You find the courage to better yourself, build stronger bonds, gain insight into your mental health, and thrive despite trauma or adversity.

Repair your relationships

Partnership. Friendship. Family.

Human connection plays a central role in one’s life journey. Even when your relationships are filled with love, it’s still possible for them to be filled with conflict, confusion, or heartache.

Couples counseling — also referred to as relationship therapy or partners therapy — can serve as a “course correct” when romantic partnerships begin to face problems in communication, trust, shared decision-making, and other relationships (between each other’s friends or family members).

Relationship counseling can also be useful in other close partnerships, including: close friends, chosen family, and parent-to-adult child relationships.

Reclaim your purpose

It’s easy to become lost in a time (now) and place (our world) as messy as the one we are living in. Trying to find peace— let alone joy— can feel like an impossible task when you’re just struggling to make it through each day.

If doomscrolling and “little treats” aren’t enough to distract you from burnout anymore, perhaps it’s time to explore what will help keep you grounded, fulfilled, and regulated.

Whether you find your worth in your career, your community, your role as a parent, partner, caregiver, or citizen of the world, allow therapy to assist you in reclaiming your purpose and sense of self.

Renew your mental and emotional wellness

What are you surviving? A painful upbringing? A traumatic history? Years of depression or anxiety? A life-altering diagnosis? A bitter divorce? The death of a loved one? Any number of life experiences can challenge your mental and emotional health.

Your past and your present should be included in shaping your healing journey. The therapy space we’ll create together will be one of safety, in which you will be encouraged to tell your story, to feel any and all feelings without judgment, and to accept all parts of yourself. Through this self-acceptance you will find a renewed sense of hope and a number of new skills to cope with problems as they arise.

Realize your dreams

Knowing what you want, but not knowing how to get there— or, worse, fearing that you won’t be able to. Rid yourself of that pit in your stomach, that voice in your ear telling you that your dreams are out of reach. Oftentimes, therapy is less about “fixing” than it is about “figuring out.”

It’s time to realize your dreams. Make this your year. Make today to the day. You’re the only one who can decide to begin the rest of your life.
